02OUR APPROACH

Know what
you can change.

Hacking your device should be effortless, putting its full potential back in your hands.

Barefoot Hardware brings together projects for modifying or programming devices through a documented web step. Each model appears once, even when several firmware options exist.

01

In the browser

The browser sends firmware or code to the device, or starts the unlocking process through its built-in browser. Each entry lists the model-specific requirements.

02

File transfer

The website prepares firmware or handles a step in a workflow that also needs a USB copy, an SD card or a separate transfer utility.

03

Setup required

A preliminary step, a specific version or a hardware intervention is needed before you can use the web tool. The entry explains what is required.

WHAT ABOUT TELEVISIONS?

The model is only half the story.

RootMyTV supported certain LG televisions running webOS 3–6. The vulnerabilities were patched in 2022, so an updated TV is not automatically compatible. This family is not included in the 336-entry count.
