Barefoot Hardware
Manifesto

Every device that can be hacked will be hacked.

First, to remove all the crap that manufacturers put in.

Second, because most products sitting in the dust could have a revival, a second life, based on your specs.

Imagine

the synth that makes all the sounds you always wanted.

Imagine

this old e-reader becoming an aggregator of all the good ideas you have, away from your phone.

Imagine

a TV that boots in a few seconds and looks like a state-of-the-art digital TV, without the state-of-the-art spyware living in it.

Imagine a world where hardware becomes ours, not theirs.

This world is now possible because of AI, because of open firmware, and because of a lot of work people are putting in around the world.

Is it a technological movement?

We don't think so. We believe this is going to become one of the most important movements since the rise of the internet. AI is just giving everyone the power to build the ideas that only a few of us had back in the day.

And believe it or not, this is happening.

Home Cooked

If you're interested, we're building an agency that helps hardware companies understand and figure out how they can build, and adjust, in a world where everybody wants to hack, remix and distribute their own version of what they've made.
